Everybody undertakes CPD in some form. Increasingly employers are expecting all staff to have personal development plans. CPD is a duty of membership to most professional bodies. An estimated of over 4 million professionals working in all sections of society are members of one of the numerous professional bodies undertaking CPD.
CPD is required in virtually all sectors but it may not be referred to as CPD, instead words like re-training, refresher, mandatory training could be used. These are effectively CPD.
